ROSA CHÁ. SAO PAULO FASHION WEEK

Sao Paulo Fashion Week. Rosa Chá Fall/Winter 2010. Amir Slama is a Brazilian-born fashion designer of Iraqi Jewish and Romanian heritage. He is the designer, stylist and owner of the Brazilian beach fashion brand ROSA CHÁ. While we East Coast fashionistas wait with abated breaths for New York Fashion Week Brazialian babes are getting their fashion fix. Sao Paolo Fashion Week in Brazil was in full effect the week of January 17th. Rosa showed their Fall/Winter collection with top model Chanel Iman as their showstopper. It was to be their first fashion show in Brazil since Alexandre Herchcovitch has become in charge of the style. Herchcovitch has worked on different themes, mixing diving clothes and lingerie with references from the beach and the feminine body. The fashion designer points toward a winter with lots of personality, performing a combination of beachwear and outwear, exploring new paths without losing track of Rosa Chá’s roots and outstanding features. Starting from its genesis, the beachwear, the collection evolves to an elaborate tailor work allowing a larger number of pieces to go from fitness, spa, and the beach, to outwear,” says Herchcovitch. The fabrics used for this collection had the feminine body as the starting point for their development; lots of elasticity and more dryfit. If this is what winter looking like in South America, apparently I've been spending my winters in the wrong hemisphere and vow to spend them in sunny Brazil from this day forward.
